چکیده

The present report demonstrates a clinical procedure to restore an edentulous area with severe bone destruction using ridge augmentation and implant placement. Titanium-reinforced, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane and tenting screws combined with a mixture of autogra and allogra (rate 50%: 50%) were used for guided bone regeneration (GBR). A two-stage surgery was performed to remove the non-resorbable membrane after 6 months healing period and delayed implants were placed. A vertical bone height of 8.0 mm (from 7.5 mm to 15.5 mm) and 7.0 mm (from 8.5 mm to 15.5 mm) was gained in the edentulous area corresponding to tooth #36 and #37, respectively compared to the radiographic image of the atrophic ridge before GBR. Final superstructures on #36 and #37 were obtained with favorable crown-root ratio. One and half year follow-up examination showed stable marginal bone level and healthy peri-implant mucosa.

Simultaneous implant placement and vertical ridge augmentation with a titanium-reinforced membrane: a case report.

The present report demonstrates a clinical approach to achieve vertical ridge augmentation around endosseous implants. Two implants were placed, leaving the threads exposed, in the atrophic mandibular right posterior quadrant of a male patient. Both implants were covered with a titanium-reinforced expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE) membrane. Second-stage surgery was performed 12 months a...

Screw "tent-pole" grafting technique for reconstruction of large vertical alveolar ridge defects using human mineralized allograft for implant site preparation.

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using titanium screws in combination with particulate human mineralized allograft, in a "tenting" fashion, to augment large vertical alveolar ridge defects for implant placement. MATERIALS AND METHODS This prospective case study evaluated augmentation in consecutive patients with large (>7 mm) vertical alveolar ridge defec...

Use of ultrasound-activated resorbable poly-D-L-lactide pins (SonicPins) and foil panels (Resorb-X) for horizontal bone augmentation of the maxillary and mandibular alveolar ridges.

Horizontal bone augmentation of the maxillary and mandibular alveolar ridges has been conventionally performed using mini titanium alloy screws. The titanium alloy screws are used to fixate corticocancellous block grafts to the recipient site or for tenting the mucoperiosteum to retain particulate bone grafts. Nonresorbable guided tissue regenerative membranes reinforced with titanium have also...

Vertical ridge augmentation with titanium-reinforced, dense-PTFE membranes and a combination of particulated autogenous bone and anorganic bovine bone-derived mineral: a prospective case series in 19 patients.

PURPOSE This prospective case series evaluated the use of a new titanium-reinforced nonresorbable membrane (high-density polytetrafluoroethylene), in combination with a mixture of anorganic bovine bone-derived mineral (ABBM) and autogenous particulated bone, for vertical augmentation of deficient alveolar ridges. MATERIALS AND METHODS A mixture of ABBM and autogenous particulated bone was use...

GBR and autogenous cortical bone particulate by bone scraper for alveolar ridge augmentation: a 2-case report.

Scientific literature describes autogenous bone as the gold standard among graft materials for alveolar reconstructive procedures. Alveolar ridge augmentation has been clinically achieved with different forms of autogenous bone, including autogenous cortical bone particulate (ACBP). However, few histologic studies demonstrating the biologic potential and healing dynamics following the use of AC...
